Departing Darwin Harbour our highly experienced team will take you to the best remote spots the Timor and Arafura sea have to offer. 

Fishing onboard our flagship vessel Magnet an 8.8 m custom built Hydrofield  which is in full unrestricted 2C survey for 6 guests  means we can fish the wide untouched lightly fished waters and get there in comfort FAST.

Fishing Charters

On the wide shoals, reefs, wrecks, gutters and islands we will use a variety of techniques to target the huge array of hard fighting tasty reef fish and pelagics with favourites such as Golden Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Black Jewfish, Queenfish, Coral trout , Tuskfish, Tuna, Tricky Snapper, Trevally and Red Emperor. 

6 hour trips will fish areas such as Fenton patches, South gutter, Charles point, Fish reef. Our 9 hour trips will travel to the Tiwis and all the shoals that are up to 100 km away .

Your day will also include snacks, lunch and refreshments including water and soft drinks and also includes the use of all gear used. Our guides will fix your gear and tutor you throughout the day ensuring you are always ready for action. 

You are definitely welcome to keep fish and we strictly follow all rules and regulations by NT fisheries. 

Your fish will be filleted and bagged on ice prior to departing the vessel.

what to bring
  • Polarised sun glasses

  • Wide brim hat / cap

  • Light clothes

  • Spare clothes in wet season

  • Go pro or filming devices

  • Alcohol (cans only)

  • What do I bring?
    Water bottle. We will provide cold drinking water to refill. Polarised sunglasses. Hat & Long sleeve shirt. Shoes that you don’t mind getting wet are suitable eg. Sandals, thongs or Crocs. Cooler bag or esky to take your catch home. Personal medications. eg. Asthma pumps, epipen, heart medication. No need to bring food. We’ll provide plenty of lunch and snacks and any non-alcoholic drinks for the day.
  • Will I get seasick?
    The waters off Darwin can be quite calm. We carefully plan our itinerary around the tides and weather although at times it can get quite choppy. For people who need tablets it’s best to have them one hour prior to departure.
  • What can i catch?
    Reef fishing We target species such as Golden Snapper, Black Jewfish, Nannygai, Rockcod, Coral Trout, Red Emporer, Grass Emporer and Saddletail Snapper. Sport fishing We target species such as Spanish Mackerel, Longtail Tuna, Giant Trevally, Mac Tuna, Queenfish, Grey Mackerel, Spotted Mackerel , Cobia, Bludger Trevally and Golden Trevally. Billfish We target Sailfish and Black Marlin and bycatch can include the varied species of Mackerel, Tuna, Cobia and Trevally
  • Can I bring my fish home?
    Absolutely! We’ll clean, fillet and bag it for you. You can take it home to cook or head out to one of the fine restaurants that Darwin has to offer where they’ll turn your catch into a work of art.
  • Where do we fish?
    It’s a secret, but we travel up to 100 km each way on our day trips to reach some of the best fishing the Northern territory has to offer. Fuel costs are not a limiting factor. Some of our fishing spots – Offshore Waters West, North and East of Darwin, the Vernon islands, Offshore Dundee Beach, Peron islands, Tiwi Islands, Bynoe Harbour, Cape Hotham, and so many remote reefs and shoals.
